呼求主名 CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD （二）

旧约里的呼求主名

呼求主开始于人类的第三代，塞特的儿子以挪士。 (创四26)呼求主名的历史连续在整本圣经中：亚伯拉罕、(十二8)以撒、(二六25)摩西、(申四7)约伯、(伯十二4)雅比斯、(代上四10)参 孙、(士十六28)撒母耳、(撒上十二18)大卫、(撒下二二4)约拿、(拿二2)以利亚(王上十八24)和耶利米。 (哀三55)旧约的圣徒不但自己呼求，还豫言别人要呼求祂的名。 (珥二32，番三9，亚十三9。)虽然许多人熟悉约珥论到圣灵的豫言，但很少人注意到一件事实，就是接受圣灵的充溢需要我们呼求主的名。一方面，约珥豫言 神要将祂的灵浇灌下来；另一方面，他豫言人要呼求主的名。这个豫言在五旬节那天应验了。 (徒二17上，21。)神的浇灌需要我们以呼求祂来配合。


CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT 

Calling on the Lord began in the third generation of the human race with Enosh, the son of Seth(Gen. 4:26). The history of calling on the Lord's name continued throughout the Bible with Abraham(Gen. 12:8), Isaac(Gen. 26:25), Moses(Deut. 4:7), Job(Job. 12:14), Jabez(1 Chron. 4:10), Samson (Judg. 16:28), Samuel (1 Sam. 12:18), David (2 Sam. 22:4), Jonah( Jonah 2:2), Elijah(1 Kings 18:24), and Jeremiah( Lam. 3:55). Not only did the Old Testament saints call on the Lord, they even prophesied that others would call on His Name (Joel 2:32; Zeph. 3:9; Zech. 13:9). Although many are familiar with Joel's prophecy regarding the Holy Spirit , not many have paid attention to the fact that receiving the outpoured Holy Spirit requires our calling on the name of the Lord. On the one hand, Joel prophesied that God would pour out His Spirit; on the other hand, he prophesied that people would call on the name of the Lord. This prophecy was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost ( Acts 2:17a, 21) . God's outpouring needs the cooperation of our calling on Him.
